Astrid has shown a remarkable capability of getting her way around bedtime (possibly because us adults have run out of energy), so the past few nights she's been dictating "Fanny on this side, daddy on this side, Fanny read me three books". I eventually negotiate it down to two, with a promise that I will read more tomorrow. I then get to fall asleep to "tomorrow is Saturday" (which it isn't) and I wake up to "I haven't had an ice cream today". Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade the opportunity to hang out with my goddaughter this much for the world.

Bedtime in the Lofgren household
