S21 is the school turned torture chamber and prison under Pol Pot. It was a very eerie place to visit, classrooms had been rebuilt into tiny prison cells or torture chambers and, as a "museum", some had masses of mug-shots of some of the people that were imprisoned there and eventually died on the Killing Fields. It is a bit unreal to think about the fact that the people in this country that are my age were actually born during Pol Pot's rule... that's how recent this genocide took place.
